About Tournament Goose
We built the thing we wished existed.
Tournament Goose started as a spreadsheet. Then a whiteboard. Then a Google Form no one filled out correctly. Eventually we just wrote the software.
The short version
We ran a rec soccer league for five years. Forty-something teams, three divisions, two fields, one very patient ref coordinator. Every season we cobbled together the same mess — bracket software that didn't do scheduling, scheduling software that didn't do brackets, and a group chat that somehow became the source of truth for everything.
There's a lot of software for running big professional tournaments. Not much for running the kind of league where someone's kid is the scorekeeper and the commissioner has a day job. That's the gap we're filling.
Tournament Goose is opinionated software. We made choices so you don't have to. It won't do everything — but what it does, it does cleanly.
What we care about
Leagues first
Most bracket software is built for one-off tournaments. We built for the Thursday night regulars — recurring seasons, returning teams, history that carries over.
No setup overhead
You shouldn't need a tutorial to run a 12-team round robin. The defaults are sensible. The edge cases are handled. Get in, get it done.
Schedules that actually work
Field time is limited. Refs have conflicts. Teams have byes. We built a scheduler that handles all of it without you having to think about it.
Live scores, not spreadsheets
Scorekeeper updates the score on their phone. Everyone else's bracket refreshes. No more group chat pings asking who won.
